It’s Online, but Is It on Target? Part 1

It’s Online, but Is It on Target?

Part 1

Using the Web Wisely

Thanks to the Web, information is easy to find. However, it’s also easy to post something online. Anyone can do it.

You’ve probably used the Internet to do research for a paper, toy help you decide which product to buy, or to form an opinion about current events. Looking up information online is fast and convenient t. But when you do online research, it’s important to find sites you can trust.

Many websites claim to have the facts, but are full of errors. Other present information in a biased way – they only give one side of an argument. How can you tell a reliable source from an unreliable one?

Also, it is critical that you post online only that which is decent and appropriate, never anything pornographic, vulgar, indecent, out of taste, untruthful, or obscene. Post those things that will make a good name for you and your organization, that will promote goodwill and be of benefit to the world.

Selecting you Courses Part 3

Selecting your Courses

Part 3

Science

Science teaches you to think analytically and apply theories to reality. Colleges want to see that you’ve taken at least three years of laboratory science classes. A good combination includes two semesters of each of the following sciences:

·        Biology

·        Chemistry or physics

·        Earth/Space Science

More competitive schools expect you to take four years of lab science courses. You can add two semesters in one of the following subjects:

·        Chemistry or physics ( the science you didn’t already study)

·        Advanced biology

·        Advanced chemistry

·        Advanced physics

Summary/ Reflection

Summary:

After 60 years a man returns money he had stolen in the late 1940s from Sears. He had stolen about 25 dollars then. He decided to pay back 60 years later. The man left an envelope with a cashier at Sears with a 100 dollar bill inside addressing it to the manager. Inside with the money, he included a note that explained that he had stolen the money 60 years ago and that he was paying back.

Reflection:

I believe that if you choose the wrong a bad conscious will forever live with you until you do the right thing. This man carried the guilt with him after 60 years. So much time past but his conscious continued to remind him that he had done bad. To be free of the guilt he decided to pay back. It was until then then his conscious could be free. I believe this is true for all of us. We will always have a guilty conscious when choosing the wrong until we do the right thing.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“It is our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good).”

-Joseph Smith

Reflection

I believe that each of us have a duty in this world. I agree with joseph. It is our doing to make this world a better place. According to joseph we need to make the good popular among us and try to get rid of all the bad. This is our duty, to have more good than bad.

Examples

I can use crime as an example. Our duty is to make this world a better place. With one not being a criminal and choosing the right, we are doing our duties.

Another example would be to help others out. That would spread good instead of bad.

Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

Reflection: This statement has “right” written all over it. There is never a wrong time to do what’s right. No matter what day it is, no matter what time during the day it is, the right should always be done. There is no excuse to choose otherwise since the right should always be done.

Example: an example of “the time is always right to do what is right would be even if you’re going through a tuff time, no matter how hard life gets for you, that doesn’t mean it is time to choose the wrong. The country is in a difficult time economically. Many of us are affected by it. This does not mean that one will go and rob a bank. ALWAYS choose the right.
